Just days after being arrested and released, rapper Lil Scrappy has released a new video for his single "Love and Hip Hop" that was produced by Marvelous J, directed by Edgar Esteves and features singer and fellow Grustle Gang label mate, Chinkie Brown.
This video is showing Lil Scrappy in a totally different light than what we're used to seeing. In the video, Lil Scrappy is getting his grown man on and gives us a classy, old school-cool, Frank Sinatra vibe as he dons a smoker's jacket and puffs on a cigar in front of a piano.
Since "Love and Hip Hop" samples Billie Holiday's "I Love You, Porgy" from Porgy and Bess, homage was paid to Ms. Holiday in the video. Chinkie Brown does a great job of channeling Billie Holiday and looks beautiful singing on stage wearing pearls, a glamorous dress and a flower in her hair.
Overall, I give this video two thumbs up. I loved seeing this side of Lil Scrappy, and Chinkie Brown's homage to Billie Holiday was a nice touch. Check out the video and let us know what you think.
